Baby Mac!

Finally Fall!

Although I can give or take the nasty rain that's been around lately, I'm glad it's finally fall! In honor of the new season, Barrett's preschool class made a trek to the pumpkin patch. I tagged along to snap a few photos along the way!

These were taken at McGarrah Farms Pumpkin Patch in Lowell, where kids can actually take a hay ride and pick their own pumpkins. They also have a maze and lots of cool pumpkin and fall-themed games. Other cool spots where you can find similar fall family fun are:

Dylan's 2-Year-Old Photos!

Dylan has been having his photo made by Hudson Photography literally since birth. I hadn't seen him since last year at his one-year-old photos, and I was amazed at how big he's gotten! This time, I brought along one of our second photographers, Beth, who has decided to try her hand at Life Photography in addition to the weddings. She did a great job! It's not always easy to photograph 2-year-olds, but we were up for the challenge! We had a great time, and Dylan made a perfect model, as always. Here are a few of my favorites:

I recently had the pleasure of shooting some maternity photographs for Lindsay... With her glowing, rosy complexion and her perfect, round little belly, she makes a beautiful mom-to-be!

Thoroughly Modern Millie!

Darling little Millie arrived at the studio fully prepared for her very first photo shoot... Her wardrobe assistants (Mommy and Grandma) had a wide array of adorable little outfits on hand, as well as several soft rugs and blankets to use as backdrops. It worked out so well!

"TuTu" Cute!

I photographed baby Liza last week, and her mommy had her in the most adorable little outfit! Her white bloomers were embroidered with Liza's name in hot pink, and she had a fluffy little bubblegum pink tutu to match!

Liza was fascinated with the soft tulle of the tutu... She kept lifting it up in the air and gazing through it in wonder...

As you can see, Liza's family was a blast to work with... Their colorful and eclectic home, filled with the amazing art of Liza's Mom, was a reflection of what a fun and vibrant family they are!

They were such a fun family to work with, and little Liza made an amazing model, managing to be incredibly cute and cooperative despite a little bit of a lingering cold. Isn't she precious!

Liza's Mom and Dad had purchsed a gift certificate for a life photography photo session that Jason and I donated to the 2006 Heart Gala... Jason and I strongly feel that each person contributing even just a little to our local community-minded nonprofits can make such a big difference. We donated shoots to a couple of different events last year, and we plan to do even more in 2007. We are slated to offer up 3 shoots to this year's Heart Gala, and we'd love to do more! Congratulations to Laura and Seth! I shot some beautiful maternity photos for them last week. I know they can't wait to meet their little one...

I love shooting maternity photographs. There is just something so beautiful about a woman who is carrying a baby. It's good to wait until your belly is nice and round to do these photographs, usually some time between 30 and 36 weeks.

Fun in the Desert Sun!!

Jason and I have had so much fun on our road trip out West... We left Fayetteville on Wednesday to head for Phoenix where Megan and Ryan exchanged vows in the Desert Botanical Gardens.

The location could not have been more perfect... The weather was sunny and pleasant and everywhere you looked, the gardens were brimming with lush desert colors. We showed up a little early on Saturday so we would have time to wander the paths that weave through the forest of cacti and other desert flora.

We're on our way back now, and we miss Phoenix! We're in Gallup, N.M., this evening, and brrr... It's cold out there!!

The trip has been a blast, but we're both looking forward to getting home. We miss our kiddos!

The Eggart Family

I recently had the opportunity to photograph the Eggart family for their Christmas cards, and it was such a pleasure! They so sweet and easy to work with, and their children are just beautiful.

I especially enjoyed sneaking a few photos of their 3-year-old while he played at his train table in the playroom...

Not-So-Terrible Two's!

Two-year-olds are so much fun! They are in constant motion, and sometimes they aren't too sure about having their pictures made, but persistence really pays off with this age group. If I follow them around with my camera for a while, they usuallly end up being "themselves." They just have so much personality! : )
